Program Description:

This session begins with a keynote address focusing on the critical aspects of wildlife justice and accountability, followed by an interactive workshop. The keynote will cover the development and implementation of effective legal frameworks and enforcement mechanisms to combat wildlife crimes, highlighting the integration of scientific research and legal strategies in addressing wildlife trafficking, poaching, and habitat destruction. Attendees will gain insights from experts in wildlife law, conservation, and environmental justice on ensuring accountability through robust investigation methods, prosecutorial processes, and judicial sensitisation. The subsequent workshop will provide a hands-on opportunity for participants to delve deeper into the topics discussed in the keynote. Attendees will engage in practical exercises and collaborative discussions to explore best practices in wildlife crime investigations, the development of prosecutorial paperwork, and the execution of awareness campaigns for judicial sensitisation. This workshop aims to equip participants with practical tools and strategies to advocate for and contribute to effective legal and enforcement measures in wildlife protection, at the same time gaining insight into the world of law and conservation.
