Cynthia boasts an extensive career spanning over 25 years, deeply immersed in the realm of conservation. Her journey has traversed various sectors, from governmental institutions to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), where she has honed her expertise across a diverse array of conservation disciplines. Beginning her career in wildlife conservation alongside hunter-gatherer communities, Cynthia's passion for environmental stewardship led her to delve into multifaceted areas such as environmental education, policy development, protected area management, and the intricacies of high conservation values and credible certification processes, including Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC). Throughout her illustrious tenure, Cynthia has fostered collaborative partnerships with diverse communities, fostering a culture of co-management of natural resources across Malaysia. Above all, Cynthia is driven by a singular purpose: her unwavering commitment to conservation, evident in her leadership, advocacy, and fervent discussions on its critical importance. Currently, she holds the esteemed position of Head of Conservation Sarawak at WWF-Malaysia.
